Nutella Mug Cake

I originally made this recipe for a column I wrote for the school paper in eighth grade. I usually focused on seasonal/holiday recipes, but I thought this one would be just the type of thing my fellow students would make when facing a tough exam.

Ingredients

  • 1⁄4 C Flour
  • 2 T Cocoa Powder
  • 1⁄4 t Baking Powder
  • 2 ½ T Castor Sugar
  • Pinch Salt
  • 1⁄4 C + 1 T Milk
  • 2 T Butter
  • 1 T Nutella
  • 1 t Vanilla

Instructions

 

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients except the sugar.
  2. In a mug, melt the butter.
  3. Mix the sugar and other wet ingredients (sans Nutella) into the mug.
  4. Mix in the dry
  5. Add the Nutella in the middle of the batter. Just drop it in the middle, no need to push it down and sink it in the batter.
  6. Microwave it for a minute and 15 seconds.
  7. Enjoy!
